PETER SNELL YOUTH VILLAGE

Peter Snell Youth Village is on the beautiful Whangaparaoa Peninsula around 2km before Army Bay. It is approximately 60 minutes from central Auckland. Magnificent native bush surrounds it, with park-like grounds, green fields and slopes down towards its own beach area to access the rocky sea shore (tide permitting). It is the ideal place for large groups, with the  Main Camp having 44 bunk beds, sleeping 88 people with catering and activities, and Dearsly Cottage, which has 16 bunk beds, sleeping 32 people and has the option of catered or self catering. Both can be hired together to give sufficient beds for 120 people, or separately depending on your group size. Both are available for groups to hire seven days a week.

The buildings are spacious and comfortable, being set alongside beautiful native bush and overlooking the sea. We offer a wide range of activities, from those specifically designed with educational outcomes in mind, through to sporting and physical challenges!

The food is appetising and the staff are very willing to assist you in having an enjoyable community experience. You won’t find a more comfortable, professional, organised and convenient camp to accomplish your goals. Enjoy the challenging and refreshing environment that accompanies both outdoor and indoor activities.

EDUCATION OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM, AKO I WAHO I TE KURA

We strive to ensure that all school groups coming to camp meet the Ministry of Education’s goal for achieving quality educational outcomes. We do this by using the Ministry of Education’s EOTC guidelines.

Whilst on camp there are a variety of brilliant activities which will transform any gathering into an interactive, exciting experience. Develop team bonding through interactive challenges or just have some fun. Have a browse through our range of options and pick the ones to make your camp a memorable one.

Activities are run and supervised by the group's adults. Our staff will give a safety briefing to adults who will lead activities.

Our activities are located in park grounds and native bush, so there is plenty of space for your group to take part in adventure, challenge and risk suitable for all ages and skill sets.

Our activities undergo an annual independent audit to ensure that we provide them in the safest possible manner, meeting the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Where required, they register us with WorkSafeNZ under the Adventure Activity Regulations 2016.
